Summer Days 2026 - Sweden

Welcome to Sweden!
Gerben Tjeerdsma and his colleagues have prepared a truly unique program for Summer Days in Sweden. Let’s go and discover together the beauty of a country where reindeer say good night and the growing season is so short that some asters do not even manage to bloom.
This time together will allow us to meet colleagues from our field in person once again, exchange experiences from the perennial world, and become acquainted with new people, new ideas, and fresh inspiration for our future work.

Some facts about the locations
Alnarpsparken
Karin Svensson researches diverse, low-maintenance perennial plantings for dry urban conditions, aiming to promote their use in public spaces despite limited maintenance budgets.
The Swedish National GenBank
The Swedish National Gene Bank preserves 2,300 historic plant varieties collected by Pom, including fruits, vegetables, and ornamentals grown in Sweden before 1960. Nationwide inventories also documented stories, traditions, and local plant names.
Klinta Trädgård
Peter Korn and Julia Anderson founded Klinta Trädgården in 2015, creating a diverse garden and nursery with global plants. They design perennial plantings, grow their own plants, and aim to make Klinta a meeting place for horticultural experts to share knowledge and promote sustainable landscapes.
